Jarred Griffiths is the Director Strategy and Engagement at Hutt City Council. He leads the development of the Council’s organisational strategy, priorities and Long Term Plan, working closely with the executive leadership team and elected members to set direction, allocate resources, and track delivery against strategic outcomes.

Jarred has led the organisation’s enterprise-wide AI programme, positioning Hutt City Council as a national leader in responsible AI adoption across local government. In recognition of this work, he was awarded ALGIM’s Jim Higgins Leadership Award in 2025, honouring exceptional leaders who demonstrate strategic vision, ethical leadership, and a strong commitment to results.

Jarred is a champion of responsible AI adoption in the public service, believing the technology can be harnessed for public good and fundamentally transform how the public service performs and delivers for the community.
